EPP_B_Lib is an extended version of the core Enginomix Power Plant Library (EPP_Lib) that supports the modeling of brine geothermal plants based on FCRC (Flash-Crystallizer / Reactor-Clarifier) technology. This technology is most commonly used in the Salton Sea region of California. Released for the first time in 2016, Enginomix has been working with a leading geothermal operating company to prepare this new IPSEpro model library for brine geothermal power plant process design, analysis and optimization.

Equipment icon models and stream property methods have been added to EPP_B_Lib for modeling brine streams, wells, orifices, two-phase flow pipes, crystallizers, clarifiers, flash tanks, filter presses, and more.  You can use EPP_B_Lib with IPSEpro PSE for brine geothermal power plant design.

The core EPP_Lib library includes detailed design and off-design icon component models for key power generation equipment, including steam turbines, gas turbines, coal boilers, heat exchangers, condensers (air and water cooled), pumps, pipes, separators and other key process equipment. EPP_Lib incorporates industry-standard calculation methodologies, including Spencer-Cotton-Cannon formulations for steam turbine efficiency, Stodola-ellipse calculations for steam turbine pressure-flow relationships, and HEI methodologies for water-cooled steam condenser design and off-design performance predictions.
